Introducing our February Artist of the Month: Mikey Freedom
Mikey Freedom, residing on the NSW south coast, creates artwork through a variety of mediums such as murals, design, sculpture and cut-outs to name a few.
Mikey Freedom's work is often understood by the term of place-making, where his work unarguably defines the environment, it is found in; “Simply put, I am an artist in love with colour, shape and line", Mikey says.
Mikey's recent work includes a collaboration with Broadsheet and Campari, illustrating a poster in Mikey’s signature vibrant style, along with mural work at the redeveloped bar at the Menzies Hotel in Sydney’s CBD. A little closer to home for Mikey, he worked on a mural for local south coast haunt 'The Little Earth Café', inspired by the café owners South American heritage. This month, we collaborated with Mikey himself, to take that love for colour, shapes, lines and more, and turn it into a special edition Valentine’s Day Card.Gift card, created especially for the hopeless romantics. Mikey’s card design is a flurry of colour & shape. It represents the dinner dates, late nights, lengthy conversations over the phone or by candlelight & the arrival of a deeper love as a consequence.
