Introducing our April Artist of the Month: Cassidy Jackson
Cassidy Jackson, among an array of other sources, draws inspiration from the land she resides – Mullumbimby, Bundajlung country. Her work delves into expressionism and abstract, figurative styles that portray themes near and dear.

The rawness of motherhood portrayed in Cassidy’s designs is an ode to late neo-expressionist artist Jean Michel Basquiat. The combination of abstract lines, patterns and contrast in colours is reminiscent of a mother’s ability to nurture and care despite her imperfections. Cassidy speaks on her own Mother’s tendency to make everyone around her feel warm and welcome. She encourages us to recognise all the things that our mothers do for us.
