Introducing our April Artist of the Month: Chantelle Sondhu
Chantelle has always had a passion for art, even from a young age. Growing up with two siblings, she was known as the creative one in the family, always coming up with ideas and drawing. Her passion for art continued through school, where she excelled in art class and found her calling.
After graduating from Deakin University with a Bachelor of Creative Arts and a Graduate Diploma in Marketing, Chantelle now works full-time as a Graphic Designer, freelancing with amazing people from all over the world.
Her work has been displayed in various art exhibitions across Melbourne, such as the QVWC Women Now Salon, where her artwork was sold before opening night. She has also been a part of RAW Artist in Melbourne, showcasing her artwork and selling her drawings. Chantelle has collaborated with VUSH and has had her work reshared by the likes of Benefit Cosmetics, among other accomplishments.
Drawing inspiration from her family's agricultural background and elder's accomplishments drives Chantelle’s ambition to grow her business to where it is today. Her style of drawing has a feminine touch to a minimalist style and ranges from cute drawings to more meaningful illustrations with a strong message behind them. Chantelle is passionate about empowering women to be their own authentic selves, to stand up against social standards and expectations, and hopes her illustrations inspire and empower the women that see them.
