What is NAIDOC week?

NAIDOC week is an annual celebration held in Australia, and it takes place during the first full week in July. NAIDOC week aims to recognise and honour the diverse cultures, histories, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC week highlights the importance of preserving and sharing Indigenous culture; including traditional languages, traditions, arts, while also acknowledging and addressing social, political, and environmental issues faced by Indigenous communities.

Who is GIVIT?

GIVIT is an Australian not-for-profit organisation and since 2019, GIVIT has matched and coordinated almost 70,000 donated items with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities in need. GIVIT also works closely with more than 400 Indigenous support organisations.

How to show your support

NAIDOC week presents great opportunities to participate in a range of activities and to support your local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.
